Benelli has taken the wraps off the Tornado Naked Twin 700 at EICMA 2026, introducing a new flagship to its sporty naked motorcycle range. As the name suggests, it gets a larger engine than the Tornado Naked Twin 550, but the upgrades go beyond displacement. The new motorcycle brings more performance, revised cycle parts and a fairly comprehensive electronics package.
Powertrain
Powering the Tornado Naked Twin 700 is a 698 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine derived from the TRK 702. The motor features a 180-degree crankpin offset and has been revised with changes to its intake, exhaust and electronic engine management to suit the motorcycle’s sportier character.
It produces 73.4 PS at 8,000 rpm and 67 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, an assist-and-slipper clutch and a bidirectional quickshifter. Benelli will also offer a restricted 35 kW version for riders with an A2 licence in applicable markets.
Sharper styling and updated hardware
The motorcycle gets a muscular roadster design, with a prominent 15.5-litre fuel tank, sharp bodywork and a compact tail section. The front is particularly distinctive, thanks to twin LED projector headlamps and T-shaped daytime running lights. The front indicators are integrated into the handguards, while the rear indicators double up as tail and brake lights.
Underneath, the Tornado Naked Twin 700 gets a steel tubular frame and an aluminium swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable 41mm Marzocchi upside-down forks and a rear monoshock. Braking is taken care of by twin 320mm front discs with Brembo four-piston callipers and a 260mm rear disc. It also gets switchable ABS, including an off-road mode.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with a wider 180-section rear tyre. Benelli claims a kerb weight of 195kg, while the seat height stands at 805mm.
Features and availability
Equipment is another area where the new Benelli packs quite a bit in. It gets a 5-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, smartphone integration, navigation and call and music management. There are three riding modes, adjustable traction control, cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring.
Interestingly, Benelli has also equipped it with heated grips and a heated seat, features that should make longer rides more comfortable. A USB-C charging port is included as well.
The Benelli Tornado Naked Twin 700 is scheduled to reach European dealerships in the second half of 2027. Prices have not been announced, and there is no confirmation yet of an India launch.
