Key highlights
- Citroen has launched the Basalt X Comfort Edition in India
- Gets premium beige leatherette seats as standard
- New Comfort AXS Packs add features such as JBL audio, dash camera and wireless charging
Citroen India has expanded its Comfort Edition range with the launch of the Basalt X Comfort Edition. Introduced as part of the brand’s 108th anniversary celebrations, the new edition focuses on making the Basalt’s comfort-oriented package more premium without pushing the price too far north.
The Basalt X Comfort Edition starts at Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and is now available across Citroen dealerships in India.
More premium cabin
The Basalt X Comfort Edition gets Premium Metropolitan Beige leatherette seats as standard, giving the interior a richer look and feel than the standard model.
Citroen has also introduced a range of Comfort AXS Packs, allowing buyers to add extra features depending on their requirements.
These include:
- JBL premium audio system
- Front and cabin dash camera
- Predictive safety alerts
- Reverse parking camera
- Wireless charger
- 10-inch Android touchscreen
The idea is fairly simple: instead of forcing buyers to jump to a higher variant just to access a few desirable features, Citroen is offering curated packages that allow customers to personalise the Basalt.
Comfort remains the focus
The Basalt X Comfort Edition has been positioned around Citroen’s Advanced Comfort philosophy, with the company targeting buyers looking for a more premium everyday ownership experience.
The new edition is intended to make the Basalt more appealing for everything from daily commutes to longer highway drives, with additional convenience and technology features complementing the existing package.
Available across India
The Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition is available at Citroen dealerships across the country.
With the new edition, Citroen is essentially giving buyers more ways to spec their Basalt without fundamentally changing the formula that makes the SUV-coupe stand out in its segment.
Our thoughts
At Rs 8.75 lakh, the Basalt X Comfort Edition also gets an attractive starting price. The real question, of course, will be how much the fully loaded versions cost once the AXS Packs are added.
