- Upcoming Bajaj ADV bike to get multiple engines
- It will be launched globally
- India launch expected by 2026 end
Bajaj’s upcoming dual-sport motorcycle will not be limited to one or two models, but it will get a range of engines and variants. This has been confirmed recently by Bajaj’s Brazilian executive director, Waldyr Ferreira.
Moreover, he revealed that the dual-sport bike will be launched in Latin America by the end of 2026. This further gives us a clear idea that the Indian market could witness the launch of Bajaj’s first ADV bike by the end of this year.
Bajaj ADV bike: What do we know so far?
While the details are scarce for now, we have already spotted this upcoming model being tested in India a few times. The test motorcycles spotted earlier were likely based on a quarter-litre engine, which is widely believed to be carried over from the Pulsar N250. However, this engine will not be the only one, as per the comments made by Waldyr.
Bajaj has a wide range of engines available from 150cc to 400cc. The Latin American market is famous for lightweight small capacity dual-sport bikes. Hence, a small capacity model could be launch in Latin America, while the Indian market could get a bigger engine to compete with the likes of Hero Xpulse 210, Kawasaki KLX 230, and the newly launched Honda XR300L.
Interestingly, Waldyr’s statement makes us believe that Bajaj will not limit this new dual-sport platform to one bike. The new platform could give birth to a range of models, which could include the lightweight dual-sport trail bikes and big touring-specific models. However, it will be interesting to see how Bajaj will launch these models and what will be their purpose, price, and target audience.
With that said, Bajaj looks ready to take on the rapidly evolving dual-sport market in India. The new ADV bike will not only Bajaj’s first take on this segment, but also add more competition to the existing rivals. One thing we are sure about is that Bajaj will pack this bike with features, power, and an aggressive price tag to shake the segment. But, will it be able to win buyers in the long run? That we will see with time.
