  • October 2026 was its best-ever month, with 27,435 units delivered.
  • Vida’s share of India’s electric two-wheeler market has increased to 11%, while monthly production capacity has doubled to 30,000 units.

Hero MotoCorp’s electric two-wheeler brand, Vida, has crossed the 2 lakh annual sales milestone for the first time. The brand sold 2,00,143 scooters between January 1 and October 29, 2026, compared with 1,13,021 units during the entire calendar year 2025. This represents a growth of approximately 77%, with two months still remaining in the year.

The milestone comes on the back of a particularly strong October. Vida delivered 27,435 electric scooters during the first 29 days of the month, making it the brand’s highest-ever monthly sales figure. This is a 66% increase over the 16,499 units sold in October 2025. Its previous monthly best was 24,435 units in September 2026.

Vida sales have grown every quarter in 2026

One of the more encouraging trends for Hero MotoCorp is that Vida has managed to increase its sales consistently through the year.

Vida crossed the 20,000-unit monthly sales mark five times this year. Based on its current trajectory, the brand is estimated to close calendar year 2026 with sales of around 2.5 lakh to 2.6 lakh units.

Vida now commands 11% of the electric two-wheeler market

The increase in sales has also helped Vida strengthen its position in India’s electric two-wheeler market. Its market share has grown from 8% during the corresponding period in 2025 to 11% in 2026 so far.

Out of the 17.7 lakh electric two-wheelers sold in India between January 1 and October 29, Vida accounted for over 2 lakh units. It currently ranks fourth in the segment, behind TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto and Ather Energy, while staying ahead of Ola Electric and Greaves Electric Mobility.

Hero doubles Vida production capacity

To keep up with the growing demand, Hero MotoCorp has doubled monthly production capacity at its Chittoor facility in Andhra Pradesh. The plant’s capacity has increased from 15,000 units at the end of FY2026 to 30,000 units in September 2026.

The company is not stopping there. Hero MotoCorp CEO Harshavardhan Chitale has indicated that monthly capacity is expected to increase further to 45,000 units by the fourth quarter of FY2027.

Vida’s current electric scooter range comprises the VX2 Go, VX2 Plus, V2 Pro and V2 Plus, alongside the DIRT.E K3 youth electric motorcycle.
