Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV: What is it?
The 0 Alpha electric SUV will be the first fully-electric car from Honda in India. The brand has confirmed that it will be launched in India in 2026. Furthermore, Honda will manufacture it in India and export it to the global markets, including Japan.
As far as the design is concerned, the 0 Alpha ditches the sleek design philosophy of other sibling cars and focuses on a high-raised SUV stance with butch upfront looks. The front design has a boxy yet dominating stance with a big connected lightbar and vertical headlights.
The side profile is equally interesting, as it gets 19-inch dual-tone aerodynamic alloys and a coupe-like rear quarter design. However, we are unsure whether this will make it to production as it is, or Honda would choose a more conventional look, something like the Elevate has.
The rear design features a big inverted U-shaped connected lightbar, which also acts as a splitter between the rear windshield and the lower half of the car, including the tailgate and a sporty bumper with chunky skid plates.
With that said, further details regarding its powertrain, specs, range, and more are likely to be revealed in the coming months. Honda has also kept the interior design a secret for now.
The launch of the 0 Alpha in the global market will exclude the possibility of Elevate ever getting an EV powertrain. However, a recent Elevate test car was seen internationally with a strong hybrid motor, something that would fit best in India.
Upon the launch, 0 Alpha will compete primarily with the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
