Honda has delayed the start of ADV160 deliveries in India. The maxi-scooter was launched in August with deliveries originally scheduled to begin in October, but customer handovers are now expected to start in Q1 2027. Honda has not officially disclosed the reason for the delay.
The ADV160 is being manufactured in India and is available in a single variant. Bookings remain open through Honda’s website as well as its RedWing and BigWing dealerships.
E85 flex-fuel engine
The ADV160 is notable for being India’s first flex-fuel scooter, with its 156.93 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine designed to run on fuel blends ranging from regular petrol to E85.
The engine produces 16.3 hp and 14.9 Nm in its international specification. Honda has equipped the scooter with a 27-litre under-seat storage compartment, making practicality one of its key selling points.
Features and hardware
The ADV160 gets a 5-inch colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity, along with turn-by-turn navigation and other connected functions. Honda Selectable Torque Control provides traction control, while braking hardware comprises disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS.
The scooter rides on a 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheel combination, with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. It weighs 133 kg, has a 780 mm seat height and offers 165mm of ground clearance.
Price and rivals
The Honda ADV160 is priced at Rs 1.70 lakh, ex-showroom Bengaluru. It sits above the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160 on price, while offering a larger under-seat storage area, TFT instrumentation and a flex-fuel powertrain.
Final thoughts
The delay means prospective buyers will have to wait a few more months for Honda’s first E85-compatible scooter in India. For now, the ADV160 remains a promising addition to the country’s growing maxi-scooter segment, but its real-world credentials will only become clearer once deliveries begin.
