Honda exports are hit: Here is why
As per the data released by the brand, the Japanese carmaker has successfully exported 2 lakh units in various international markets. The exported models include the Elevate, City, City Hybrid, Brio, Jazz, Accord, and CR-V.
Honda began exporting its models in 2021 in the SAARC and SADC markets, by selling 50,000 India-made units. Later, this number expanded to 1 lakh units in the next 2.5 years of tenure, as the company expanded to the Middle East, Mexico, and Turkey car markets.
However, the big jump in the export numbers was registered recently, when the brand started exporting the cars to Japan. The Japanese car market has a high demand for the Elevate SUV and the City sedan cars.
In fact, the Elevate is one of the top-selling models of Honda in Japan. The current Elevate that is on sale in Japan is made in India. Hence, Honda is blooming the right way, and able to counter its modest sales numbers in the Indian market.
