JCB India has launched its largest excavator ever built in India, the 52.8-tonne JCB 520X LC. The company calls it a major step into the heavy-duty segment, and it certainly looks the part.
What is new?
The new excavator uses a 400 hp engine and can be paired with a 3.4 cubic metre bucket, which means it is built for sites where the work doesn’t pause and the deadlines don’t budge. It sits on a redesigned hydraulic system with a next-gen pump and control valve setup that promises higher efficiency and lower running costs. For customers who worry about downtime, JCB is offering a full maintenance contract of up to 30,000 hours. That is a bold offer and a clear statement about the machine’s reliability.
This big reveal is only part of JCB’s massive lineup at the event. The company has launched over ten new products this year, covering everything from backhoe loaders and telehandlers to the latest 2-5 tonne excavators. The 3DX Super and 4DX backhoe loaders come with better fuel efficiency, new cabins and smarter alert systems to keep operators informed and safe. The upgraded 81 Eco pushes fuel savings a step further with almost 15 percent improvement thanks to smarter idle control and dedicated work modes.
New tech
JCB has also brought new tech to the table. Its mini excavators, the 30Z and 36R, get zero or reduced tail swing designs for tight urban job sites. The long-reach 290 LR now digs down to 57 feet, proving that JCB isn’t shy about going to extremes. Even the Stage V–compliant VMT 300 compactor shows how much attention the company is giving to cleaner and more efficient machines without unnecessary after-treatment complications.
JCB’s wide service footprint continues to be one of its strongest pillars. With over 700 dealer outlets, huge centralised parts hubs and more than 9,000 service engineers on the move, the brand makes sure that machines stay on the job rather than waiting for spares.
