Key highlights
- Updated T2 gets revised styling, a more premium cabin and new technology
- China-spec petrol versions offer up to 254 hp, while the PHEV gets a 307 hp electric motor
- India will initially get the pre-facelift T2 as the JSW Combat
The Jetour T2 facelift has now gone on sale in international markets after making its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show in August. While the SUV retains its familiar boxy silhouette, Jetour has made several changes to give it a cleaner and more upmarket appearance.
Up front, the revised T2 gets circular DRLs integrated into the headlamps, a new grille with an LED strip and a cleaner bumper. The Jetour branding has also moved from the grille to the leading edge of the bonnet.
New alloy wheels and body-coloured wheel arches differentiate the side profile, while the rear gets a redesigned bumper, a new spare-wheel cover carrying the Jetour wordmark and a subtle roof spoiler.
More premium cabin
The facelift also brings a noticeable change to the interior. A beige colour scheme, quilted leatherette seats and additional leatherette trim give the cabin a more premium appearance.
The 10.25-inch digital instrument display and 15.6-inch touchscreen continue, but the infotainment system now uses a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 processor. This enables a new voice-controlled AI assistant.
Other equipment includes 10-way powered front seats with massage function, dual wireless charging pads, a 23-speaker sound system, ADAS and 256-colour ambient lighting.
Hybrid setup gets a major rethink
China-spec petrol versions continue with a 184hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine in the entry variant, paired with a 7-speed DCT and front-wheel drive. Higher variants use a 254hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed DCT and AWD, while the top petrol version gets an 8-speed automatic.
The PHEV version retains its 156 hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine but replaces the previous dual electric motors with a single 307hp motor producing 330 Nm. The hybrid transmission has also been changed from a 3-speed DHT to a 1-speed unit.
Battery options include 26.61 kWh and 45.12 kWh packs, offering 108km and 173km of WLTP electric range, respectively.
India launch remains a question mark
The facelift is unlikely to reach India immediately. JSW Motors is preparing to launch the pre-facelift T2 as the JSW Combat, with the India-spec SUV expected to use the 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid powertrain.
