JSW MG Motor powers up residential EV charging with Real Estate partnerships

Key Highlights

  • Over 800 chargers installed under MG’s “Charge” initiative across India.
  • JSW MG Motor teams up with Confident Group and IONAGE Technologies for residential charging.
  • Target: 1,000 chargers in 1,000 days and 5,000 residential societies by 2028.

Apartment parking spaces are being transformed into the next major charging centres by JSW MG Motor India. To deliver EV charging directly to residential neighbourhoods, the business has teamed up with IONAGE Technologies and Confident Group under its MG Charge program.

The mission is simple but ambitious: make EV ownership truly effortless. Because, let’s face it, if you can charge your car at home like your phone, range anxiety becomes a thing of the past.

Charging, Simplified

The technological foundation of this operation is provided by IONAGE Technologies, which provides a smooth digital platform that enables inhabitants to use their cellphones to schedule, monitor, and control charging sessions. Nine hotels owned by the Confident Group in Kerala have already implemented the technology, and many more are in the works.

Making charging as effortless as parking i.e. plugging in, leaving, and waking up to a full battery, is the aim. The largest residential charging network in India may begin with MG’s goal of 5,000 housing societies by 2028.

Real Estate Meets Real Innovation

Confident Group is handling the real-world side of things, equipping its premium residential projects including Confident Lotus and Confident Aquila with on-site chargers. For residents, that means no more hunting for fast chargers or waiting in line at public stations. Just convenience, right at home.

Early adopters are already on board, praising the reliability and ease of having chargers installed within their gated communities. It’s a small change that makes a huge difference in how people experience EV ownership.

Our Thoughts

This is MG walking the talk. Instead of just selling electric cars, they’re building the ecosystem to support them and doing it in collaboration with real estate and tech partners who know the landscape.
