Kia Carens CNG kit launched
With the launch of the Carens Clavis, Kia also rejigged the Carens nameplate by axing all the variants and leaving the Premium (O) variant as a standalone choice. The main reason behind this was to attract chauffeur-driven buyers or commercial fleet owners.
While the diesel engine of the Carens is still popular among fleet owners, the 1.5 petrol is not as much. Now, to boost sales, the company has launched a retrofit CNG kit for the Carens owners.
This kit has been sourced from a third-party vendor called Lovato. Lovato is a renowned name in the CNG kit manufacturing, and it also supplies the kits to Honda. This kit has been priced at Rs 77,900, and it can be bolted to the 1.5L petrol variant directly.
Although the brand has now released any specs or mileage details, we can safely assume that the engine will produce less than 115 bhp and higher mileage due to the CNG fuel.
Moreover, customers get a standard warranty of up to 3 years or 1 lakh kilometers, whichever comes earlier, on the CNG kit. This kit is going to benefit the buyers who travel a lot frequently and reside in Delhi/NCR where the diesel engine option is nearly dead in the buyers prespective.
