Mahindra’s electric push is officially gaining serious traction. The brand has sold over 30,000 units of its premium electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6 in just seven months, marking a major milestone in its Born Electric journey. These models, built on the INGLO skateboard platform, are Mahindra’s first ground-up EVs and have clearly struck a chord with buyers looking for style, tech, and long-range capability.
The response has been nothing short of phenomenal. Mahindra registered 30,179 bookings on Day 1 alone, with a combined booking value of INR 8,472 crore. Since deliveries began in March 2025, the company has steadily ramped up production and fulfilled orders across Pack One, Two, and Three variants.
What’s Driving the Demand
Both the XEV 9e and BE 6 offer two battery options 59 kWh and 79 kWh, with the long-range version delivering a claimed 682 km on a single charge. The SUVs come loaded with Level 2 ADAS, dual-motor AWD, DC fast charging, and a 0–100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds.
Interestingly, 73% of buyers opted for the top-end Pack Three, which includes the larger battery, panoramic sunroof, multiple screens, and premium interior finishes. That’s a clear sign that Indian EV buyers are no longer just chasing affordability, they want the full experience.
Market Position and Rivals
Priced from INR 18.9 lakh for the BE 6 and INR 21.9 lakh for the XEV 9e, these SUVs are positioned to take on rivals like the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and upcoming Tata Curvv EV. Mahindra’s aggressive pricing, combined with its feature-rich packages, has helped it carve out a strong niche in the premium EV space.
The company is also leveraging its UNLIMIT India vision to build a connected EV ecosystem, with OTA updates, smart charging infrastructure, and a growing dealer network.
