Mahindra has expanded the Veero light commercial vehicle range with the launch of the new Veero 1.1 XXL CNG and an upgraded Veero Diesel. The additions strengthen the Veero’s multi-energy strategy, with the platform designed to accommodate different powertrain options.
Veero 1.1 XXL CNG
The new Veero 1.1 XXL CNG is aimed primarily at intra-city logistics. It gets a 1.1-tonne payload capacity and a 2,900 mm, or 9.5-foot, cargo deck. Despite the longer load area, its 5.1-metre turning radius is intended to make it easier to manoeuvre through congested streets and tight loading areas.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 65 hp and 98 Nm. The CNG version claims an ARAI-certified efficiency of 21.4 km/kg, while the combined petrol and CNG range is claimed to be over 450 km.
Mahindra is positioning it for applications including FMCG distribution, e-commerce deliveries, fruit and vegetable transportation, courier services and other urban logistics operations.
Veero 1.5 XXL Diesel
The Veero Diesel, meanwhile, gets a significant equipment upgrade. It now features a 26.03 cm touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with voice commands supporting multiple languages. Cruise control has also been added, while LNT technology is now part of the package.
Other features include a heater with AC, reclining driver’s seat with adjustable headrest, flat-fold seats, door armrest and D+2 seating. The iMAXX connected vehicle system now adds remote AC control to its existing suite of more than 50 functions, including vehicle tracking, geofencing, route planning and fuel tracking.
