Maruti Suzuki has announced its first-ever flex-fuel vehicle’s India debut. The brand will take the cover off its E100-compatible car in Delhi on June 5, 2026. Read below what to expect from it.

What to expect from the Maruti Suzuki flex-fuel car?
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that Maruti will introduce the first flex-fuel car in India on the upcoming World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, in New Delhi. Although the key details about this vehicle are not disclosed yet, we believe it will be the Fronx E100 prototype, which was showcased at the Japan Mobility Show in 2025.
India is moving rapidly towards higher ethanol blending in petrol, and hence, new technology is being pushed by the government. An E100 prototype vehicle will not only help people learn about the ethanol blending and flex-fuel cars, but it will also pave the path for the upcoming E30 and E85 fuels.
An online report recently revealed that the Indian government is working towards expanding the ethanol dispensing stations with E100-compatibility. As per the report, 5,000 dispensing stations are destined to go live in the next two years across India.
