Battery and range

Powering the Hector Tomahawk EV is a 69.2 kWh MAGIC battery paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. The motor produces 150 kW (204 hp) and 310 Nm, while the claimed range stands at 517 km.

The SUV supports DC fast charging at up to 90 kW. MG says a compatible DC charger can replenish the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. A 7.4 kW AC charger takes around 12.5 hours for a 10-100 percent charge.

Feature-loaded cabin

The Tomahawk EV also has 230 mm of ground clearance at the battery, while its 2,810 mm wheelbase contributes to what MG claims is best-in-segment cabin space.

The new EV gets a 15.6-inch HD Grand View Display, an 8.8-inch multi-information display and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system. It also features a panoramic Cockpit SkyRoof, ventilated front seats, 256-colour ambient lighting and up to 610 litres of boot space in the 5-seater.

The SUV’s tech package includes i-SMART 3.0 with more than 80 connected features, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital Bluetooth key with key sharing, OTA updates and an India-first GenAI-powered voice assistant capable of understanding more than 30 Hinglish commands.

The Hector Tomahawk EV supports V2L, V2V and V2H functionality. The latter can be used to supply power to a home, although MG notes that the V2H charger will be sold and installed at a later date and that availability depends on regulatory and hardware requirements.

Safety and colours

Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, ESP, traction control, hill-hold, ABS with EBD, TPMS, all-wheel disc brakes and a 360-degree HD camera. It also gets a Level 2 ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist, lane-keep assist, lane-departure prevention, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.

The Hector Tomahawk EV will be available in Pearl White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Celadon Blue, Shadow Gold and Khaki Green, along with Shadow Gold + Black and Khaki Green + Black dual-tone options.

MG is also offering a lifetime warranty on the high-voltage battery for the first private owner, along with a three-year unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, three years of roadside assistance and two labour-free services under MG SHIELD.
