- MG also confirmed plans to launch two new EVs and one plug-in hybrid this financial year
The MG Windsor EV has achieved another major milestone in India. JSW MG Motor India has announced that the electric crossover has crossed 75,000 sales in less than two years since its launch, making it one of the fastest-selling EVs in the country.
The company also revealed that over 19,000 Windsors have already found homes in the first six months of 2026, helping it retain its position as India’s highest-selling electric car. At the same time, JSW MG Motor India recorded a 13 percent year-on-year growth in overall sales during the first half of 2026.
Why has the Windsor been so successful?
According to MG, the Windsor’s popularity comes from its unique positioning in the market.
The company describes it as offering:
- Pricing comparable to an A-segment car (with the BaaS model)
- Exterior dimensions of a B-segment vehicle
- Cabin space comparable to a C-segment SUV
This combination has made it an attractive option for families looking to switch to an electric vehicle without compromising on space or comfort. MG also says demand has been strong not just in metro cities but across Tier-II and emerging markets as well.
