Hyundai has been testing the next-gen i20 internationally for a long time. However, a test mule of the new i20 has been spied for the first time in India. Check its complete details below.

The current generation i20 has been present in the Indian market for a long time now. Its sales are also getting affected due to the high price tag and an outdated design. However, this is about to get changed as the brand has begun testing the next-gen i20 in India.
From the first-ever spy shots of the next-gen i20, we could make out that the new model will offer a complete design and cabin makeover. The test car, which is heavily camouflaged in the spy images, has a new rear silhouette, new ORVMs with possibly 360-degree camera units, and a new bumper design.
Sadly, there are no side images or front images of the Indian test mule, which could have helped us in guessing more about the changes. Assuming that the Indian-spec model will be majorly similar to the global car, the new i20 will get a more streamlined design with connected LED lights and new aero packaging.
On the inside, we expect it to get a connected dual-screen display, new cabin panels, new seats, a new steering wheel, and more advanced features. It will also come equipped with the Level 1 ADAS features, including the blind spot assist, lane change assist, and more.
Powering the next-gen i20 are likely to be the current engine options. These include a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Both of these will be offered with the choices of a manual and automatic transmissions.
The expected launch timeline of the new-gen i20 in India is by late 2026. The prices of the new model will be slightly higher than the current car.
