The new Himalayan 750 is the first 750cc model of Royal Enfield. It is powered by a big-bore version of the 648cc engine used on the 650 lineup. This new engine is now a 743cc parallel-twin, and it uses oil cooling. This setup makes a healthy 55 bhp and 63 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This new engine is a boxer-type engine, which offers a linear torque surge. RE claims that it offers 90 per cent of the peak torque at 3,500 RPM.

The Himalayan 750 features a distinctive design. It does not have a beak like the Himalayan 450, and it is road-focused with its 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. The bike also debuts the new LED headlamp, which offers improved illumination. Meanwhile, the tall windscreen is adjustable.

Speaking of the hardware, it features fully adjustable 43mm Showa USD forks and Showa monoshock rear suspension with a remote controller for adjustment (preload and compression). This setup offers 190mm front wheel travel and 175mm rear wheel travel.

Meanwhile, braking is taken care of by the new 280mm twin-disc brakes at the front and a 255mm rear disc brake. The brakes get a dual-channel ABS with a traction control system, which offers up to four levels of adjustment. Additionally, the bike weighs 224kg (including 90 per cent fuel and oils), and it has a 17.8-litre fuel tank. The claimed fuel economy is 20.5 km/l.

The electronic package is also extensive. It features an updated 4-inch circular TFT screen with in-built navigation, five ride modes (Road, Road Sport, Rain, Trail, & Custom), a lean-sensitive ABS, TCS, cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a SIM-enabled connected system with 4G and GPS, self-cancelling turn indicators, and a USB-C charging port.

With that said, Royal Enfield is offering the Himalayan with cross-spoke and alloy wheel options. The bike is available in five colours: Antarctic Silver, Aztec Green, Siberia White, Teutonic Black and Viking Bronze.

The new Himalayan 750 is likely to make its Indian debut at the Motoverse festival later this month. We expect it to be launched in India by the end of this year. It is likely to be priced around Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
