Skoda Auto India has confirmed that the Octavia RS is officially sold out, days before its scheduled launch on October 17. All 100 units allocated for the Indian market were booked within hours of opening pre-orders, making this one of the fastest sellouts in recent memory.
The Octavia RS returns in its most powerful avatar yet, arriving as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Deliveries begin November 6, and if you didn’t get your booking in, you’ll have to wait for the next batch if there is one.
What makes this RS tick
Under the hood, the Octavia RS packs a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that churns out 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox, sending power to the front wheels. The RS hits 0–100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Skoda has equipped the RS with progressive steering, sports suspension, and a sports exhaust system to dial up the driving thrill. It also offers a 600-litre boot, expandable to 1,555 litres because, even performance cars need practicality.
Why it sold out so fast
The Octavia RS has always had cult status in India. It’s the kind of car that blends everyday usability with track-day potential.
