2026 Hyundai i20: What to expect?
The current-gen i20 has been present in the international and Indian markets for a long time. Due for an update, Hyundai is working on its new-gen model.
Although the test mules of this upcoming model have been previously spotted, the new spy shots make things more interesting as the test car is seen towing a trailer in Europe.
Back in 2016, Hyundai was offering the i20 Active in India, which was positioned as a crossover version of the i20 with higher ground clearance and more rugged. The test mule seen here hints at a similar variant.
While manufacturers do test their cars rigorously, towing a trailer on public roads is a direct indication that either this is the new i20 Active or Crossover variant, or it gets an all-wheel drivetrain.
Apart from it, the test mule is looking bigger in size and has new body panels with a new set of LED lights, bigger ORVMs, and bigger dual-tone alloy wheels.
The next-gen i20 is slated to launch in 2026, and it will land in India by 2027. If Hyundai throws an all-wheel drive on it, we suspect it will not make to India.
