Tata Safari latest price hike details
If you were planning to buy a new Safari, get ready to shell out more from your pocket, as the brand has revised and increased the prices of the three-row SUV. The 2026 Safari will now set you back by Rs 10,000 to Rs 60,000 more as compared to the previous month’s prices.
This price hike depends on the variant that you opt for. However, all variants and powertrains have undergone the new price correction. Interestingly, the price hike coincides with the launch of the Stealth Edition model, which was recently introduced with cosmetic tweaks and new features.
Tata offers the Safari with two engine options: a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TGDI turbo petrol motor that makes 170 bhp and 280 Nm, paired to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox; and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that makes 168 bhp and 350 Nm, paired to the same gearbox options as the petrol powertrain.
Safari is positioned as the brand’s flagship SUV. Tata Motors is currently developing a new electric Safari, which is likely to be based on the 800V acti.ev+ platform. This architecture will allow the Safari EV to offer better performance than the rivals, and also get the brand’s trademark QWD technology, which is essentially an all-wheel drive configuration that is paired to the dual electric motors.
The new Safari EV is likely to be introduced later this year. It will be positioned against the Mahindra XEV 9E and the upcoming Jaecoo J5 EV. We anticipate that it could be priced around Rs 30-35 lakh.
