- Nissan Tekton 7 seater version spied
- Likely to be offered with mild cosmetic tweaks
- Likely to be powered by the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine
After a successful launch of the new Tekton mid-size SUV, Nissan is now working on its upcoming stretched-out version with a seven-seater configuration. This upcoming SUV was spied recently with close details, revealing the headlights and taillights, along with the boot design and exterior cosmetic tweaks.
What to expect from the 7-seater Nissan Tekton?

Nissan is following the same route as Hyundai. While the Korean carmaker sells the Creta and Alcazar side-by-side, both models are essentially similar, with the Alcazar offering more luxury and comfort. A similar approach is being followed by Nissan, as the brand is working on an ‘elongated’ version of the Tekton.
The latest spy shots reveal that the Tekton 7-seater version will feature a redesigned boot. This is obvious, as the SUV will offer up to seven seats and more rear seat space. Hence, the rear quarter design is more upright and stretched to offer better interior space.
However, this won’t be as comfortable as an MPV, but the crux here is to offer more interior space and compete with cars like the Maruti Victoris, Hyundai Alcazar, etc. A closer look reveals that it will feature a set of new segmented LED taillights with a more ‘vertical’ boot design and a new rear bumper.
Other visible changes include the new alloy wheels. We can also spot the redesigned fascia, which is most likely to feature a new grille. However, the sleek LED headlights look identical to the 5-seater Tekton.

On the inside, it is likely to feature the same design as the 5-seater version. The only additions here could be a new interior theme, more soft-touch leather materials, and added features with AI-powered connectivity. The seats will also be redesigned, especially at the back, to offer more space. The third row, as expected, will be mostly suitable for kids.
Powering the Tekton 7-seater is most likely going to be the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. This powertrain offers 163 bhp and 280 Nm, and it is most likely to be mated with a six-speed manual and a 6-speed wet DCT automatic gearbox option. There could be an AWD drivetrain as well, but that is not confirmed.
Sadly, Renault has kept the hybrid engine to itself, and Nissan will not equip the 7-seater version with a 1.0-litre turbo engine. This means that the Tekton 7 S will most likely be offered with a single engine option.
As far as its launch is concerned, we suspect that it will be introduced around the Diwali festive season. The price could be around Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh more than the Tekton.
