What to expect from the upcoming Renault Bridger SUV?

Renault revealed the Bridger prototype not long ago. The upcoming compact SUV immediately received a response from car enthusiasts in India and globally due to its boxy design and an upright posture.

Now, the brand has homologated its design in India. However, the homologation comes under the ‘Games and Toys’ category, solidifying the fact that it is for a scale model. Nonetheless, the homologation, whether of a toy car, is a positive step towards the launch timeline.

Speaking of the design, the Bridger packs a moder-cum-conventional outlook. It features a boxy design with modern elements like the C-shaped LED headlamps, illuminated Renault lettering on the front grille, flared wheel arches, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and dual-tone alloys.

The interior details of the Bridger are yet to be revealed, but we can safely assume that it will be a five-seater SUV with ample space for long trips and a spacious boot to carry luggage. It will also pack modern features like the ADAS safety, wireless connectivity, ventilated seats, sunroof, and more.

Online rumours suggest that the Bridger will get two engine options initially. These will include a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol, and a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol. The latter will be carved out by downsizing the Renault Duster’s 1.3-litre turbo engine.

Renault also plans to introduce hybrid and BEV options on the Bridger. The exact launch timeline is still unknown, but it will debut in India in the next 12 months.
