Toyota’s upcoming Innova Hycross facelift is still under development, but the facelifted MPV seems to be approaching the final production stage. Solidifying this fact is the new design patent leak of its front bumper, which gives us a faint look of how the new MPV will look after a mild redesign.
The newly filed design patent of the front bumper looks like it belongs to the Innova Hycross. The reason is the LED headlight cut-out, which matches the LED headlight housing of the current Innova Hycross.
Speaking of the changes, it now packs a redesigned grille with a honeycomb, maze-like pattern that looks similar to the new Hilux. Additionally, the vertical fog light housings are also inspired by the new Hilux. The upper grille features a sleek black band with the Toyota logo, while the lower portion of the bumper gets a redesigned slim grille.
With these changes, the front fascia is likely to get a makeover on the new Innova Hycross. Moreover, Toyota could introduce projector LED headlights on the new model, replacing the reflector-based LED headlights of the current model. The latter are known for poor throw, which could be ironed out with this update.
A few test units of the new Innova Hycross facelift have been spotted earlier with camouflage. Those units were seen with redesigned lights and bumper, and possibly new alloy wheels.
Moreover, a faint leak of the interior design showcased a bigger screen with a new UI. We suspect that Toyota could introduce new features like electric second-row seats with ventilation, rear sunblinds, Boss Mode, etc.
Powering the new facelift will be the current engine options, which include the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a CVT automatic gearbox, and the 2.0-litre self-charging hybrid engine with an e-CVT gearbox; both offering FWD.
The new Hycross is expected to launch next year in India. With the feature and design upgrades, its price is likely to be hiked marginally.
