2025 Tata Altroz Facelift Review

The Tata Altroz has always been one of the best-looking hatchbacks in the country, and in 2025, it has evolved into something more than just a city runabout. Here’s a closer look at what makes this new Altroz such a compelling package.

Design

From the front, the Altroz immediately grabs attention with its bold 3D grille and new Luminate LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. The proportions remain tight and athletic, but it’s the details that make this hatchback stand out. The floating roofline and segment-first flush door handles give it a very polished, modern profile.

At the rear, the Infiniti connected LED tail lamps create a futuristic signature. The redesigned bumpers and the drag-cut alloy wheels add more maturity to the stance. Nothing here feels like design for the sake of design — every element contributes to either aerodynamics, safety or road presence.

Cabin experience

Step inside and the Altroz immediately feels a class higher. The Grand Prestigia dashboard, finished with soft-touch materials and subtle ambient lighting, gives the cabin a warm, premium vibe. The 90° opening doors make ingress incredibly easy, and the flat rear floor ensures three adults can sit comfortably.

The seats are well-cushioned with generous thigh support, making long journeys easy on the body. The new dual-tone smart steering wheel also adds a nice sense of sophistication to the driver’s cockpit.

Features and connectivity

This is where the new Altroz surprises the most. You get:

  • 10.25-inch Harman infotainment system
  • 10.25-inch HD digital instrument cluster with built-in navigation
  • Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
  • 360° camera with blind view monitor
  • Climate touch control panel
  • Wireless charging
  • Voice-controlled electric sunroof
  • Air purifier
  • Dual 65W fast charging ports
  • Express Cooling

It’s smart, it’s connected, and more importantly, everything is intuitive to use.

Safety

The Altroz remains the only premium hatchback with a 5-star Global NCAP rating. Built on Tata’s ALFA architecture, the car feels solid and reassuring even before you look at the safety kit.

You get:

  • 6 airbags
  • ESP
  • Reinforced crumple zones
  • ISOFIX mounts
  • Hill hold assist
  • SOS emergency call
  • Fog lamps with cornering function

Engines and driving experience

Tata is the only brand offering petrol, diesel and CNG in this segment — and that alone sets the Altroz apart.

Petrol (1.2L Revotron)

  • Manual / AMT / 6-speed DCA
  • 88 PS / 115 Nm
Smooth, sufficient and easy to drive in the city.

CNG (Twin-cylinder I-CNG)

  • 73.5 PS / 103 Nm
  • 5-speed manual
The twin-cylinder layout preserves boot space — a big win for families.

Diesel (1.5L Revotorq)

  • 90 PS / 200 Nm
  • 5-speed manual
Still the only diesel in the segment, and one of the best for highway performance.

On the road, the Altroz is easy and confidence-inspiring. The steering is light, visibility is great, and the suspension tuning feels tailor-made for Indian roads. Large speed breakers, broken roads or sudden potholes, the Altroz manages all of it without unsettling its occupants.

Even at highway speeds, the car feels planted and sure-footed, giving drivers the confidence to maintain momentum.

Verdict

Starting at INR 6.89 lakh ex-showroom, the Altroz comes in multiple variants, Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S and Accomplished+ S across five stylish colour options.

With its striking design, high-quality cabin, robust safety, feature-rich interior and unmatched drivetrain variety, the Tata Altroz isn’t just another player in the premium hatchback segment.
