What to expect from the 2026 Hyundai Exter facelift?
The latest spotting of the upcoming Exter facelift test mule shows that Hyundai’s small SUV crossover is nearing its production stage. The spotted test car was partially camouflaged, but its steel wheels and Apollo tyres showcase that it is the base variant.
While the front and rear design is completely covered, we suspect new bumpers, a new front grille, and updated H-shaped DRLs. While the radical design of Exter has kept a lot of buyers away, it seems that Hyundai will not change the weird rear shape with the new model as well.
Since it is a mid-life update, the interiors are likely to remain more or less the same, save for the bigger infotainment, new digital console, and more features like wireless charging pads, bigger sunroof, and possibly ADAS safety on the range-topping models.
Under the bonnet, the facelifted Exter will be unaltered. It will continue to be offered with the current 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that is paired with a 5-MT/5-AMT transmission. Hyundai will also offer it with the CNG powertrain option with dual-cylinder tech.
The expected launch timeline of the new Exter is in the second half of this year, before the festive season. Its price is likely to be hiked marginally due to the new feature additions.
