- Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift spied
- A red-coloured car was spotted during a TVC ad shoot
- It is likely to pack a new turbo petrol engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox
Maruti’s upcoming launch is going to be the facelifted Brezza. The updated model of the Brezza was partially leaked online when someone spotted it during a TVC ad shoot.
The red-coloured car appears to be a top-spec model as it has black roof and mirrors, which are usually offered on the top variants. While not many changes have been made to the side profile, we can spot the reworked body cladding with a chrome highlight on the doors and the new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
However, the front fender and the side profile of the front bumper appear to have changed. The bumper and the headlight design look curvy from the side. Sadly, the side profile is the only glimpse that was captured.
In terms of the expected changes, we can safely say that the new Brezza will feature a reworked front fascia with a new grille, new bumper, new LED projector headlamps, and new LED foglights. The rear profile will get the new LED taillights and a reworked bumper.
Overall, the size of the Brezza facelift will remain unaltered, save for a few millimetres. Big changes are expected on the inside, where a new infotainment console, a new digital console, updated cabin theme, and features like the ventilated front seats, electric driver seat adjustment, electronic parking brake, etc, will be added.
Meanwhile, a big change under the bonnet will also happen. While the current model uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the previous test car spotting revealed a new 6-speed manual gearbox. Online rumours suggest that it will get a new turbo petrol engine, which could be around 1.0-1.2 litres. While we are not sure about its exact specifications, we certainly believe that a new engine will be offered to save the GST 2.0 taxes.
With the TVC ad shoot undergoing, we assume that the launch is not far away either. The new updates and new features will not affect the prices of the new Brezza as compared with the current model. However, it won’t be surprising if Maruti reduces its price due to a new turbo petrol engine that could cut the GST taxes.
