2026 Toyota Hilux – What do we know so far?
The new-gen Hilux is set to be launched in Thailand on November 10, 2025. It will be based on the new TNGA-F platform, which is also shared with the Toyota Tacoma and the Land Cruiser.
The body on this ladder-frame chassis will be heavily redesigned, offering a bigger size and new features. The teaser shows the new fascia that has the sharp LED headlights, a new grille with Toyota lettering on it, and a sculpted bonnet with aero curves.
The rear profile is accentuated by the new vertical LED taillights and the new tailgate with Hilux branding on it. Moreover, it features all-new blacked-out matte alloy wheels with AT tyres – a trademark of Hilux for years.
We have already seen the test mules, which gave us a faint idea that the new-gen Hilux will be bigger in dimensions. Its loading bay area will also offer better space and improved ergonomics for loading and unloading.
Meanwhile, the cabin is set to undergo a massive overhaul as it will get a new dual-step dashboard design with a floating 12-inch infotainment screen and a new digital console. Toyota will also offer modern features like wireless charging, ventilated seats, ambient lights, electric seats, and more on the new Hilux. It is also going to offer the Level 2 ADAS safety features.
Powering the new Hilux will be the current 2.8-litre diesel, 2.7-litre petrol, and a 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine options globally. However, Toyota will replace the latter two with a new 2.5-litre strong hybrid engine in the future, which will also power the next-gen Fortuner.
The 2026 Hilux is expected to be launched in India by mid-2026. It will be priced higher than the current model, which currently starts at Rs 28.02 lakh in India.
