- Engine response and electronics updated
- Gets a new Bosch IMU and winglets
Suzuki has updated its flagship superbike in the global market. The 2027 GSX-R1000 has been revealed with smart upgrades to its engine and electronics for a better and more comfortable riding experience.
Updates to the engine
The latest updates to the engine include a revised engine response system. The new GSXR is now more linear and quicker than ever before. Suzuki says that the peak torque now comes in a more linear fashion, which helps in making it the quickest GSXR ever made. While the engine tune has been revised, the peak power and torque figures remain unchanged.
The Intelligent Ride System or SIRS now features the more precise Bosch IMU. The latter measures movements and position changes across three axes and six directions and sends the information further to the ECU to make quick changes.
Updated electronics
The new 2027 GSX-R1000 now gets the TLR or Torque Lift Radius control module. The TLR controls the torque, lift, and radius/traction controls of the motorcycle. Its function is to automatically match the Roll Torque Control with the front-wheel Lift Limiter behaviour as per the Traction Control setting selected by the rider. Overall, the rider now gains better control of the motorcycle in various traction modes. So, performance has been optimised to a new level.
The Roll Torque Control manages the power delivery to the rear tyre depending on the lean angle and grip level. Meanwhile, the Lift Limiter avoids the front-wheel lift-off during hard acceleration while coming out of a corner.
Another addition is the new Revised Motion Track Brake System. This system has improved the lean-sensitive ABS, as it now records the real-time motorcycle movements, including the lean angle and other data, rather than relying on the wheel-specific data.
GSX-R1000R, RS, and 40th Anniversary updates
Along with the above-mentioned revisions, the track-focused GSX-R1000R variant now features adjustable swingarm pivots and golden Showa Balance Free front forks. It is available in Pearl Vigour Blue with Pearl Tech White colour and Candy Daring Red with Pearl Tech White colour.
Meanwhile, the range-topping GSX-R1000RS variant additionally gets the carbon fibre winglets and a redesigned lower-left fairing to smooth out the new exhaust system.
India availability
For now, the 2027 Suzuki GSX-R1000 will be sold in the European and US markets. Suzuki has not revealed whether it will launch the new GSX-R in India or not. We hope that the brand has saved a few units for the Indian market.
