3 Nissan cars incoming – What to expect?

Nissan recently conducted an event where it revealed the Gravite SUV. It is the next big launch from the company, which is set to take over the B-segment MPV segment, emerging as a direct rival to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

The Gravite MPV will be based on the CMF-A platform, and it will launch in January 2026. It is likely to be based on the Renault Triber, thus offering the same 1.0-litre petrol engine and a retrofit CNG choice of powertrains.

Meanwhile, Nissan has also confirmed that the Tekton SUV, which is the rebadged new-gen Renault Duster, will be launched in mid-2026 in India. It is based on the CMF-B platform and is likely to be offered with the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine with a mild-hybrid technology.

However, there is a third car as well. This is going to be a 7-seater crossover between an MPV and an SUV. Nissan has not revealed any details about it, but has certainly said that it will be an all-new car and not an elongated Tekton model.

The launch timeline for the latter model is 2027. Nissan has claimed that it will launch a new car in every six months in India. Also, the sales and export targets for India and the global market have been revised with an aim of 1 lakh cars for India and 1 lakh export cars for the world within FY27.
