Ola Electric: High sales, new products incoming
Ola has eventually become a brand name that is omnipresent across India. New two-wheeler buyers, irrespective of the city they belong to, consider buying an Ola once for sure. Introduced in 2021, Ola’s success became a case study as the S1 and S1 Pro scooters found lakhs of buyers.
With time, the brand expanded its wings with newer products, and has lately launched its first commuter e-bike called Roadster. Now, within 4 years, the brand has recorded a cumulative sales of 10 lakh vehicles, which makes it one of the top-sellers in India.
To celebrate this milestone, Ola has introduced a special anniversary edition Roadster X+ motorcycle. It is painted in a beautiful shade of dark blue, which is highlighted by the contrasting red elements, a dual-tone seat, and anniversary badges made out of recycled copper.
However, everything is not as good as it seems on the outside. Ola has been struggling with poor after-sales and service-related experience queries and a pile of dead EVs, which are still overdue for solutions.
This led to a negative marketing for the brand, and the market share of 51% dropped to 18% from May 2024 to present.
