Tata Motors launches Ace Gold+ diesel mini-truck at INR 5.52 lakh

Key highlights

  • Tata launches Ace Gold+ Diesel at INR 5.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • 702 cc diesel engine makes 22 HP, 45 Nm, and delivers 22 km/l.
  • 750 kg payload, 3-year/72,000 km warranty, plus 24-hour service turnaround.

The Tata Ace has been the go-to truck for small businesses since 2005. From vegetables to construction material, chances are you’ve seen one carrying half of India’s economy on its back. Now, Tata Motors has given its workhorse a sharper edge with the Ace Gold+ Diesel, priced at INR 5.52 lakh. With over 22 lakh Aces already sold, this new variant builds on a rock-solid reputation while adding a few modern touches.

The Ace Gold+ Diesel uses a 702 cc motor that puts out 22 HP and 45 Nm. It isn’t about speed—it’s about pulling power and efficiency. With a claimed 22 km/l and a payload of 750 kg, it hits the sweet spot for small shop owners, delivery fleets, and rural transporters who count every rupee spent on fuel.

What’s new?

This isn’t just the same Ace in a fresh badge. Tata has made some thoughtful changes:

  • A clutch designed to last longer, with smoother shifts
  • Suspension tuned for better stability when loaded
  • A cabin that now packs a digital instrument cluster and a mobile charging port
  • Connectivity via Tata’s iRA app to track vehicles and plan service

On top of that, Tata is offering a 3-year/72,000 km warranty and its “Samarth” program, which covers insurance support, service assurance, and even driver training. And that 24-hour service turnaround promise? It’s a lifeline for fleet owners who can’t afford downtime.

For Bharat, not just metros

Tata is calling the Ace Gold+ Diesel “Bharat ka pickup,” and it fits. With over 1,500 service points across the country and finance schemes that are easy to access, this mini truck is aimed at Tier 2 and Tier 3 buyers who need something reliable and affordable. While the Ace EV is slowly finding its place in city deliveries, the diesel still remains king where charging stations are hard to come by.
