Yamaha WR 155R: What to expect?
Just days after the first spotting went viral, Yamaha’s upcoming WR 155R adventure bike was spied in a parking lot. The latest spy shots have surfaced from Bengaluru, where the Racing Blue colour WR 155R production bike can be seen up close.
The WR 155R is a light, nimble, and agile off-road machine, which is on sale in select countries. It is powered by the R15-sourced 155cc liquid-cooled engine, which offers 16.5 bhp and 14.3 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 6-speed transmission and a slipper clutch.
However, it is its nimble and minimalist bodywork that attracts off-road enthusiasts. Additionally, it is loaded with a long-travel telescopic front suspension and a monoshock at the rear with preload adjustability.
Yamaha has ensured that it remains as engaging to ride as it looks. Therefore, it does not get electronic aids like a TFT console or ride modes, but features a rather simple LCD to display the basic information.
It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels, which are wrapped with block pattern tyres for off-roading. Braking duty is done by dual disc brakes that have a single-channel ABS.
Speaking of its India launch, the company has not confirmed any details regarding the debut of the WR 155R brand. However, Yamaha has scheduled a big event on November 11, which is suspected to debut this affordable adventure bike in India.
If launched, it will compete with the Hero Xpulse 210, and is likely to be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh.
