Honda CB300R discontinued – Here’s why

The CB300R has been removed from the official Honda website in India. In fact, the dealerships have been ordered to clear the old stock and no new bookings are being undertaken.

The CB300R was launched in India in 2019. Upon launch, it was the first liquid-cooled motorcycle of the brand below the 350cc mark. Powering it was a 299cc single-cylinder engine that offered 31.1 bhp and 27.5 Nm of power and torque.

After the GST 2.0 price revision, the CB300R recorded a considerable price cut as it was positioned at Rs 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom). It was a nimble, agile, and high-quality motorcycle that offered a stress-free highway and city performance.

While Honda has not revealed the exact reason for its discontinuation, we firmly believe that poor sales could be the prime reason. The CB300R competed against rivals like the KTM 250 Duke, which are way better equipped and offer strong performance too.

Some online reports are also hinting at the launch of Rebel 300, which is expected to happen in the coming days. Hence, two bikes with the same engine do not make sense. Therefore, the CB300R might have been axed for this reason.
