What to expect from the 2026 Kia Seltos?
The latest teaser images shared by Kia on its social media handle have confirmed the early design sketch leaks. The new-gen Seltos will get a bolder design language, which will be heavily inspired by the new 2027 Kia Telluride.
As seen in the teaser images, the new Seltos looks bigger and futuristic with its chiselled body panels and the new vertical LED headlights. The LED taillight is also sharp and vertical, mimicking the Kia EV9. A faint glimpse of the side profile shows a full-size panoramic sunroof and flush door handles as well.
The teaser car bears a new grey-ish exterior colour combined with the black roof and ORVMs. We suspect that it is a top-spec variant that will debut on December 10 in India. As per the online rumours, the new-gen Seltos will be bigger than the current model and offer more space for the passengers.
In addition to the new design language, a new cabin will also attract buyers with redesigned seats, a new dashboard that is likely to offer a full-width triple screen display and a new two-spoke steering wheel. Moreover, the elongated shape will offer better rear space for the passengers, while the cargo area might also be increased.
Kia has been a pioneer in introducing new-age features on its models, and the new-gen Seltos will be no different either. Online reports have been hinting at new features like a new 4K screen, a new augmented reality HUD, a new UI for the infotainment screen, an improved sound system, improved voice commands, a bigger panoramic sunroof, and enhanced ADAS features with a broader set of safety features to offer.
The new-gen Seltos will also be improved under the bonnet. While its petrol engine options are likely to remain unchanged, the 1.5-litre diesel engine will now get a 7-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that will replace the 6-speed AT of the current model. Additionally, there are rumours of a new 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine to debut as well, which shall take on the rivals like the Toyota Hyryder and the Maruti Grand Vitara.
The new-gen Seltos will be revealed in India on December 10, and its price is expected to be revealed early next year.
