New MY26 Kawasaki Vulcan S launched in India at INR 8.13 lakh

Key highlights

  • MY26 Kawasaki Vulcan S launched in India at INR 8.13 lakh ex-showroom
  • Continues with the proven 649cc parallel-twin engine and ERGO-FIT system
  • Deliveries to begin from mid-January 2026 in a single new colour option

Kawasaki has rolled out the MY26 Vulcan S in India priced at INR 8.13 lakh ex-showroom. The updated Vulcan S stays true to its original brief. It is a cruiser that does not want to behave like a traditional cruiser. Instead, it blends sporty performance with everyday usability, and that remains its biggest calling card.

What stays the same and why that matters

At the heart of the Vulcan S is the familiar 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. It produces 61 PS at 7,500 rpm and 62.4 Nm of torque at 6,600 rpm. These numbers may not sound dramatic on paper, but on the road, this motor shines with its smooth delivery and strong mid-range. The six-speed gearbox comes with an assist and slipper clutch.

Ergonomics

The Vulcan S continues to offer Kawasaki’s ERGO-FIT system, and honestly, this deserves more praise than it usually gets. Seat, handlebar, and footpeg positions can be adjusted to suit different rider heights and preferences. Kawasaki claims up to 18 possible configurations.

This means shorter riders can feel confident at stops. Taller riders do not feel folded in half. The low seat height and relaxed foot-forward stance make the Vulcan S approachable, even for those stepping up to a bigger motorcycle for the first time.

Design and features

For MY26, the Vulcan S is offered in a Metallic Flat Spark Black shade. It looks understated, slightly menacing, and very Kawasaki. The long and low stance remains unchanged, and that is a good thing.

The motorcycle runs on an 18-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a horizontal back-link monoshock at the rear with preload adjustment. Braking is handled by large disc brakes that offer strong stopping power without feeling aggressive.

Instrumentation remains simple. You get an analogue-style tachometer paired with a digital display that shows essential information, including a gear position indicator. No flashy screens here. Kawasaki knows this bike is about riding, not swiping.

Availability and rivals

Deliveries of the MY26 Vulcan S will begin from mid-January 2026 across Kawasaki dealerships in India. It continues to sit in a unique space. It does not directly chase traditional cruisers, nor does it try to out-muscle them.
