What to expect from the new Volkswagen Tayron R-Line?

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line

The upcoming Tayron R-Line will launch by March 2026 in India. It is a full-size SUV that is offered with 5- and 7-seat layouts internationally. However, the brand has confirmed that only the 7-seater variant will be launched in India, and that too in its R-Line avatar.

The Tayron R-Line is a big SUV as it measures 4,770 mm, which is 25 mm shy of the Toyota Fortuner’s length. Hence, the road presence will be immense of it. Additionally, the teaser shows that it will get the connected LED lights and the illuminated VW logo, which are a part of its design theme globally.

The Tayron will be positioned above the Tiguan R-Line, and one can say that it is the Skoda Kodiaq’s sibling car. However, the interior theme is completely different on it, as it features a driver-centric cockpit with a big floating infotainment screen, a three-spoke steering wheel, leather upholstery with ambient lighting, and features like a mooroof, etc.

Powering the Tayron R-Line will the VW’s tried and tested 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that makes 201 bhp and 320 Nm of power and torque. It will be paired with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, and the SUV will come loaded with a standard AWD system.

While the brand decides the launch date, we firmly believe that it will be positioned at a bit premium than the new Skoda Kodiaq. Which means that it can be launched somewhere around Rs 40-45 lakh (ex-showroom).
