The all-new Chetak C2501 is not based on the existing Chetak models, but it is an all-new model with a new chassis. As Bajaj has kept it in the affordable category, it features a metal body frame, but the headlight cowl and panels are plastic now. The LED taillight is also new with an upswept design. The C2501 is the lightest scooter in its segment as it measures 108 kg.
The Chetak C2501 uses a new design language with a new round LED headlight, a new front apron, repositioned front turn signals, and a floor-mounted battery. The underseat storage of the C2501 is generous at 25 litres, while it offers all bells and whistles, including the LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity and music support, USB charging, 2 riding modes (Eco and Sport), hill-hold assist, reverse function, and more.
Powering the Chetak C2501 is a new floor-mounted 2.5 kWh NMC battery that makes 1.8 kW (continuous) and 2.2 kW (peak power). The low output numbers means it has a lower top speed of 55 km/h. However, the claimed range is pretty decent at 113 km on a full charge. The whole setup is IP68 rated, offering resistance against water. Meanwhile, Bajaj is offering a 750W onboard charger that can juice it 0-100% in 3 hours 45 minutes.
Bajaj has positioned the Chetak C2501 at Rs 91,399 (ex-showroom), and it is available in six colours: green, white, black, red, grey, and yellow. The Chetak C2501 rivals the TVS iQube (Rs 1.03 lakh) and the Vida VX2 Go (Rs 94,740).
