Royal Enfield appears to be getting closer to introducing its new 750 cc motorcycle family, with the upcoming GTR 750 spotted testing again in Chennai. The motorcycle is yet to receive an official name, but the latest test mule is believed to be the faired version of the upcoming Continental GT 750.
Unlike the current Continental GT 650, the GTR 750 gets a quarter fairing around the circular headlamp. The fairing partially covers the engine while also incorporating an integrated flyscreen. The motorcycle is expected to feature clip-on handlebars, giving it a more committed riding position than the standard GT.
The latest prototype also features bar-end mirrors, alloy wheels and twin exhausts, with the engine and exhaust finished in black. One of the most notable changes is the dual-disc setup at the front, which should provide greater stopping power for the more powerful motorcycle.
New 750 cc parallel-twin engine
The GTR 750 is expected to use an all-new 750 cc parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine, believed to be a bored-out evolution of Royal Enfield’s existing 648 cc motor.
The current 650 cc engine produces around 47 hp and 52 Nm. The upcoming 750 cc unit is expected to make roughly 50-55 hp and more than 60 Nm, although Royal Enfield has not revealed official specifications yet. A six-speed gearbox is expected to continue.
Other expected equipment includes dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch, LED lighting, telescopic front forks, twin rear shocks and tubeless tyres.
Launch timeline
The increasing frequency of test sightings and the near-production appearance of the latest prototype suggest that development is progressing well. However, Royal Enfield has not announced a launch date.
The GTR 750 could be introduced by the end of 2026 or sometime in 2027. It is also expected to be part of a broader 750cc family that could include models such as the Continental GT 750 and Himalayan 750.
