Tesla Model Y available with a discount, dead on arrival?
Tesla made a grand entry in India the previous year with its Model Y, a highly successful EV in the global market. However, the brand is left with 100 unsold Model Y cars from 2025 itself, and the official dealerships are now offering a Rs 2 lakh discount to clear the old stock.
As per an online report, Tesla brought 300 units to India as the first batch. However, only 200 units have found a home till now, with 100 units lying unsold in the parking lots. The prime reason behind this slow response is the CBU pricing. Tesla is importing the Model Y in India, and that makes it super expensive.
Mind you, the Model Y is available at Rs 59.89 lakh for the RWD version and Rs 67.89 lakh for the AWD/Long Range version. Despite its world-class tech and innovation, this pricing looks absurd, especially in comparison with rivals like the BYD Sealion 7 and the BMW iX1.
The discount offer is on the unsold units only, and we assume it will remain active until the stock lasts.
