Nissan Tekton SUV: Everything we know so far
Nissan had earlier released the teaser of the Tekton’s exterior design. The Japanese carmaker was all set to launch the SUV in India in February, but the plan got spoiled due to various internal factors. However, the Tekton is now set to be introduced in the cut-throat mid-size SUV market of India on July 9.
The Tekton SUV will sit on the same platform as the Renault Duster. In fact, it is the same car, save for the badge engineering and a different design. On the outside, it packs a design that is inspired by the Nissan Patrol SUV.
The front fascia boasts a connected LED headlight setup with sleek C-shaped DRLs. Meanwhile, the front bumper has a streamlined and mature design, as opposed to the rugged design of the Duster.
Similarly, the side profile is likely to offer the multi-spoke alloy wheels, functional roof rails, mirrors with a 360-degree camera setup, and conventional door handles. The rear design will pack a set of connected LED taillights and a smooth bumper design, while the Tekton lettering will be embosed on the tailgate.
On the inside, the similarities between the Duster and Tekton will narrow down. We expect a different interior theme and badge engineering, while the connected display, three-spoke steering wheel, seat design, and other features like the sunroof, wireless charging, etc, are all likely to be as it is as the Renault Duster.
Under the bonnet, Tekton will share the same engine options as the Duster. Which means that it will be offered with the 1.3-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol options. A 1.8-litre strong hybrid with self-charging setup is also likely to be introduced in 2027.
Speaking of the prices, we believe that the Tekton will be positioned slightly above the Renault Duster. For reference, the Duster price range lies at Rs 10.49-18.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
