Mahindra Vision S: What do we know so far?
The Vision S is based on the all-new NU_IQ platform, which Mahindra showcased last year in its concept form. The prototype attracted a lot of attention globally, and Mahindra is now aiming to launch it in India next year. The car is already in its road testing phase, and the latest test mule spotting shows us a set of new LED headlamps that are similar to the Thar Roxx.
Vision S will be positioned below the Scorpio N, and it will most likely be a sub-4m SUV. While it currently does not have a direct rival, except the Bolero Neo, the upcoming Renault Bridger will become its head-on competitor. The overall design of the Vision S is a typical SUV, featuring a three-box conventional shape.
However, the modern bits are also visible. These include the chunky multi-spoke alloy wheels, flared wheel arches and a chunky body cladding, an upright front grille, and LED foglights. The tall-boy stance of the Vision S is most likely to become its USP, something similar we experienced with the Scorpio N’s success.
On the inside, it will offer a vertical dashboard, a dual-screen connected panel, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and the latest features like ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, electric seat adjustment, leather upholstery, wireless charging, a premium sound system, and more.
The previous spottings have already revealed an AdBlue cap, which confirmed the diesel engine. We believe that Mahindra will initially offer it with the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine and a 1.2-litre TGDI turbo petrol engine. In a later stage, a fully electric version will also be introduced.
While we can not comment on its exact launch date or price, market expectations are that it will be introduced in 2027 in India, while it will be launched with a left-hand drive configuration in the global market in 2028. Since it will fight with the Renault Bridger, our expected price of the Vision S is Rs 10-18 lakh.
