What to expect from the new 2027 Audi Q7?

The upcoming Q7 will be the third-generation model in the lineup. The Q7 has been a popular SUV globally, and for its next-gen model, Audi has used the all-new Premium Platform Combustion or PPC architecture.

While not much is known about the PPC, we know that the new-gen Q7 will undergo a substantial design change. We have seen the spy shots earlier, and the previous test mules were seen equipped with a new fascia, a new grille, new Matrix LED headlamps, and a set of sporty bumpers. Even the alloy wheels on the test cars were brand new.

With the new platform, Audi is expected to add a number of powertrain options to the Q7. These are likely to include plug-in hybrid, turbo petrol, and even a pure electric version in the future.

On the other hand, the teaser image shows the conventional driver-side door design with regular door handles. The latter might sound like a downgrade, but it is now necessary for Chinese cars to offer conventional door handles from 2027 for safety reasons. And mind you, Audi sells a big chunk of cars in China.

The teaser also gets an S-Line badge, which further clarifies that the new Q7 will be offered in various versions, including the sporty GT-styled S-Line trim. Meanwhile, the interior design and comfort features are likely to take a big leap forward with a new connected screen panel on the dashboard, new door panels and a new steering wheel.

We believe that the new-gen Audi Q7 will make its global debut first in China, and later in other countries. The expected launch timeline is in the coming months, probably by the end of this year. Audi will certainly bring the new-gen Q7 in India, but not before Q2 2027.
