The Honda ADV160 is coming to India

Key Highlights

  • Honda is planning to launch the ADV160 in India within the next two quarters, meaning a late 2026 or early 2027 launch.
  • The scooter will be fully localised and made in India for both domestic and export markets.
  • Expected price is Rs 1.30 lakh to Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

We recently reported that the Honda ADV160 had been patented in India. Now there is a launch timeline to go with it.

Sources confirm that Honda is actively working on localising the ADV160 for India, with a launch expected within the next two quarters. That puts it at either late 2026 or early 2027. The scooter will be fully manufactured in India, not just assembled, and will be produced for both the domestic market and export.

This is a significant detail. Full localisation means Honda can price the ADV160 competitively. Whether it will still command a premium over its rivals, as Honda products often do, remains to be seen.

What the ADV160 Brings

The ADV160 fills a gap that Honda currently has no answer for. Yamaha has the Aerox 155. Hero has the Xoom 160. Honda has nothing in the sporty liquid-cooled maxi-scooter space. The ADV160 changes that.

It is powered by a 157cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 16 hp at 8,500 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The adventure-scooter styling sets it apart visually from both rivals. Dual LED headlamps, a large adjustable windscreen, wide handlebars, and a 165mm ground clearance give it a purposeful road presence.

Under the seat, 27 litres of storage. Kerb weight is 133 kg. Seat height is 780 mm. Features include a digital instrument console, keyless ignition, idle start/stop, all-LED lighting, and a USB charger.

BigWing, Not Regular Dealers

One more detail worth noting. The ADV160 is expected to be sold through Honda’s BigWing dealership network, not regular Honda showrooms. That puts it in the same retail channel as the CB300F, CB350, and Hornet 2.0. It signals how Honda is positioning this scooter: as a premium product, not a mass-market one.

The segment is getting crowded fast. Honda has been late. But it is coming, and it is coming localised.
