Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Flex Fuel: Everything to know
The new Wagon R Flex Fuel, aka Bioflex, was showcased a few days ago. Now, the brand has revealed its price, which is Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive Wagon R model in the lineup.
The Bioflex model is powered by a 1.2-litre K12N four-cylinder engine. This engine is compatible with E20 to E100 fuel blends, thus making it compatible with nearly any fuel grade with ethanol blend in India.
However, the brand has not released its complete technical specifications. The Bioflex model does get a revised fuel system, including the injectors, fuel pump, a reworked ECU remap, and an ethanol sensor to evaluate the percentage of ethanol in the fuel.
The Wagon R Bioflex is Rs 86,000 costlier than the ZXi+ MT variant, which is priced at Rs 6.38 lakh (ex-showroom). The flex fuel Wagon R is currently going to be available only for commercial use. While it is compatible with E100 fuel, Maruti has homologated it for up to E85 use.
Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has cleared the regulations for E100 fuel. He also revealed that Toyota, Suzuki, Hyundai, and MG are soon going to launch E100-compatible cars in India.
