India Kawasaki Motors has launched the 2026 Ninja 500 in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.76 lakh. Positioned as the brand’s entry-level twin-cylinder supersport, the updated motorcycle continues to target riders looking for a balance of everyday usability and sporty performance. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from mid-June 2026.
The Ninja 500 replaces the older Ninja 400 in global markets and brings a larger engine, improved low-end performance and a more accessible riding experience without losing the sharp styling that has defined the Ninja family.
More power
At the heart of the Ninja 500 is a 451cc parallel-twin engine that has been developed to deliver stronger low and mid-range performance while retaining the smooth power delivery expected from a twin-cylinder Kawasaki.
The engine is paired with Kawasaki’s Assist & Slipper Clutch, which not only reduces clutch lever effort but also helps minimise rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifts.
Lightweight chassis
Inspired by the flagship Ninja H2, the chassis has been developed using Kawasaki’s advanced rigidity analysis technology. The engine also acts as a stressed member, helping keep weight in check while contributing to agile handling characteristics.
Kawasaki says the result is a motorcycle that feels light, easy to manoeuvre and confidence-inspiring for riders of varying skill levels.
Unlike hardcore supersport motorcycles, the Ninja 500 aims to be approachable.
The motorcycle gets:
- Relaxed riding ergonomics
- Slightly elevated handlebars
- Forward-set footpegs
- Accessible seat height
- Slim chassis design
These elements are designed to make the bike comfortable for longer rides while still retaining a sporty feel behind the handlebars.
