Honda ADV 160: What do we know so far?
The ADV 160 maxi scooter was put up on display by Honda at the latest event. The upcoming maxi scooter is a crossover between a scooter and an adventure motorcycle, as it carries select traits of an ADV bike.
The maxi scooter features a tall windscreen, a dual-pod LED headlamp setup, aggressive side panels, a telescopic suspension, stepped seat design, a footboard with a central tunnel that separates both legs of the rider like a motorcycle, an upswept exhaust, and a 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 13-inch rear alloy wheel with dual disc brakes.
In terms of features, it gets a big TFT console with a coloured display and Bluetooth connectivity, Honda’s Road Sync App connectivity that features navigation, SMS and call alerts, traction control modes, music controls, and more, LED lights, etc. It also features the idle start/stop feature that helps in saving fuel in the city, a 27-litre underseat space with helmet storage, and a USB charging socket.
Powering the ADV 160 is a 156.9cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is E85-compatible. The E85 compatibility is something that no other maxi scooter offers in India currently. This engine also generates segment-leading power and torque output of 16.09 bhp and 14.9 Nm, respectively.
Honda is yet to officially announce the launch date of the ADV 160, but it has been confirmed for launch soon. We suspect that it will be introduced around the festive season later this year. The ADV 160 could be introduced with an introductory price of around Rs 1.5 lakh.
