The upcoming Ducati Monster 2026 model has been homologated in India. The details of the motorcycle were recently leaked online, revealing the design patent of its design. Ducati introduced the new Monster in the global market last year, and it is expected to be launched in India in the coming weeks.
2026 Ducati Monster: What to expect?
The biggest update that the new 2026 Monster naked sportsbike will bring is the comeback of the iconic sculpted fuel tank design. The previous model had replaced this signature design element of the Monster, and the motorcycle faced strong criticism in the global market. Keeping this in mind, Ducati engineers have redesigned the fuel tank in a similar fashion to the iconic Monster models.
The design sketch also shows the neo-retro elements and the typical Ducati design traits, which include the oval LED headlight with a small cowl above it that protects the TFT console, a short tail tidy with a fat rear tyre, a slim single seat, a committed riding posture with an upright-set handlebar and rear-set footpegs for the rider, and a single-sided twin-exhaust design.
The new Monster is suspended over an aluminium monocoque chassis with an aluminium frame and a trellis sub-frame. The bike also features the USD front suspension and a monoshock rear suspension, where the monoshock gets preload adjustment. Additionally, the new Monster features a revised suite of electronics, including a six-axis IMU, Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, a 5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, ride modes, engine braking control, wheelie control, lean-sensitive ABS, and more.
Powering the new Monster is the Streetfighter V2-sourced 890cc V2 liquid-cooled motor that makes 111 bhp and 91.1 Nm. It features a new variable intake valve timing, which offers a broader torque spread across the rev range. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and gets a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
Ducati is expected to launch the new 2026 Monster in India before the festive season later this year. It could be priced around Rs 13 lakh.
