KTM India has rolled out the revised price list of the RC 160. The entry-level KTM sports motorcycle is now Rs 15,000 more expensive than before. The new price hike has now escalated the ex-showroom sticker price of the new RC 160 to Rs 2 lakh.
The reason cited for the new price hike is the rising input costs, which have led to an increment in the various manufacturing and logistics costs. Bajaj Auto Ltd manufactures the KTM motorcycles in Chakan, Pune, and the brand has finally let go of absorbing the rising input costs after a long time.
With that said, the new RC 160 will set you back by Rs 2,000 more in comparison to the segment-leading Yamaha R15 V4 top-spec variant. Moreover, if we compare this price with the KTM RC 200, the RC 160 is just Rs 32,000 cheaper than the bigger RC 200.
Surprisingly, the RC 200 prices have remained intact at Rs 2.32 lakh (ex-showroom). With that said, the RC 200 offers a substantial upgrade in power, riding dynamics, and overall ownership experience.
The RC 160 is now the most expensive sub-200cc sportsbike in India. While it gets a similar styling as the bigger RC 200, the skinny tyres, smaller brakes, and an overall sleeker profile give away its engine capacity.
Powering the RC 160 is a 164.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that makes 18.73 bhp and 15.5 Nm of power and torque. This powertrain is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, and this little sportsbike can touch 118 km/h top speed as well.
With that said, there have been no other changes made to the bike. It continues to offer LED lights, an LCD instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity, a dual-channel ABS, USD front forks, and more such features.
