Audi India’s recent announcement for the Indian market is promising for Audi lovers and luxury car buyers in India. Audi India’s head, Balbir Singh, has recently confirmed that the brand will introduce the new-generation Q5, Q6 e-tron, and the Q7 SUVs in India in 2027.
This announcement comes after the brand recently announced the launch of the new-generation Q3, A5 sedan, and the new flagship Q9 SUV in India by next year. This means that the Q range of SUVs will be thoroughly updated in India by the end of next year.
Audi Q6 e-tron details
Speaking of the details, the Q6 e-tron will be the brand’s first electric car that will be assembled in India. It is based on the 800V PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture, and it shares its roots with Porsche.
The Q6 e-tron is likely to be launched by mid-2027, and it will be priced around Rs 85 lakh. In the global market, it gets a 100 kWh battery that offers 641 km of range (WLTP), and comes loaded with a dual-motor all-wheel drive configuration. Audi also offers a sportback version of it, which is more aerodynamic, offering 656 km range.
New-generation Audi Q5 details
The new-gen Q5 will be introduced somewhere around the festive season next year. The Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3 rival will be offered as a CKD, and it is likely to be priced around Rs 75 lakh.
The new-gen Q5 will offer a completely revamped styling, new interior design with the curved screen setup consisting a 11.9-inch digital driver screen and a 14.5-inch infotainment screen.
The new Q5 will most likely to be offered in its 2.0-litre TFSI turbo petrol guise with the Quattro or AWD. It offers 256 bhp and gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Online reports hint a new Sportback version could also follow that is likely to offer 367 bhp, and it could be called the SQ5.
New-gen Audi Q7
Audi’s most popular SUV, the Q7, will also follow the above-mentioned models. It will be introduced by December 2027, and it is likely to be priced around Rs 1.5 crore.
Being a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the BMW X5, the new Q7 will also offer the new exterior design with the split Matrix LED lights, a wide grille, illuminated logos on both ends, a connected LED taillight setup, dual-tone alloys, etc.
It will also likely offer a similar interior design as the Q5, but the materials will be richer, the cabin will get different theme options, and there will be a six-seater option as well.
The Indian-spec model is likely to be offered in the 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with the Quattro AWD. Audi is unlikely to bring the turbo diesel engine option in India.
